Putting the emphasis on your eyes may be the way to look your best at this year's Christmas party, according to make-up expert Jemma Kidd.

Ms Kidd, talking to the Flintshire Chronicle, advised ditching the boring natural look and going for the shimmering effect of glitter at the festive season's parties.

She told the news provider: "Glitter eyeshadow is a party look that is most flattering on young, wrinkle-free eyes. As a rule, the younger you are, the more you can use shimmer and glitter."

But it is not just glitter that can make for beautiful eyes this winter, as Serena Warwick, national account manager at Living Nature, a natural skincare producer, believes that smoky eyes are also back for the party season and said that they can be complemented with a moisturizer that produces a "healthy shimmer" to enhance your natural beauty at Christmas.

For people with compromised eyesight who want to accentuate their eyes at Christmas, ortho k contact lenses could be the answer.

Ortho k contact lenses help correct vision by gently reshaping the cornea while asleep. Once awake, the night contact lenses can be removed and eyesight is restored.

They are great for the party season because they allow the wearer to be free from the irritation that contact lenses can cause if worn for a whole day at work and then in the evening.

With ortho k contact lenses there is no chance of the Christmas party being ruined by sore, itchy eyes as they remove the problems that can be caused to eyes when wearing contact lenses during the day.
