Motorbike racer benefits from contact lenses   |   28.07.2009

A motorbike racer has revealed that her confidence was significantly boosted after she started wearing contact lenses.

Sam Burman told girlracer.co.uk that she was thrilled that she could race effectively in wet weather as a result of her new eyewear.

The youngster is currently taking part in the NGRRC Championships and she revealed to the website that she significantly benefited from the lenses while racing earlier this month.

She said: "I was ... pleased that we were able to try my contact lenses in the wet conditions and I felt confident with them."

However, there are still problems associated with contact lenses that can make them an unsuitable choice for people who partake in active sports, such as having to carry around solution, or accidentally losing one lens during the day.

Should Ms Burman, or any other sports player, be on the lookout for another solution, there is also the option to try orthokeratology.

Ortho k lenses are worn at night and reshape the eye, so wearers don't have to worry about any eyewear at all during the day - perfect for people who are really active.ADNFCR-2387-ID-19283827-ADNFCR
