TV presenter considered pirate patch to hide laser eye surgery | 06.07.2009
Kerri-Anne Kennerley hosts the morning show on Channel 9 and last week she had surgery on her left eye that left it looking 'red, weepy and bloodshot', the Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper reported.
Ms Kennerley said that she had thought about wearing an eye patch, rather like those worn by pirates, in order to cover it up.
She was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Yes, my eye is bloodshot. I could have started the show with an eye patch and a parrot, but I in fact had lens replacement eye surgery. It feels just fine.
"It looks a bit strange. It doesn't hurt me, but it does look a bit weird."
Should Ms Kennerley have wanted to avoid the need to keep her eye covered, she could instead have opted for ortho knight lenses.
Worn at night, these special lenses are capable of reshaping the cornea, meaning that vision is restored.
