Corrective laser surgery expert highlights eyecare essentials
People should take care of their eyes at work to ensure they do not damage their vision.

An expert in corrective laser surgery has highlighted the importance of taking care of your eyes in the workplace - especially as computer use during people's working day is on the increase.

Laser eye surgery expert Dr Lee Sao Bing claims that the most obvious signs of eye strain are blurred vision, irritation and headaches.

Writing for Asia One, Dr Bing noted that while these problems can be treated with a number of simple vision correction procedures, if left untreated they can lead to other problems - such as fatigue, loss of concentration, an increased likelihood of errors and deteriorating eyesight.

Dr Bing stated that there a number of steps a person can take to help maintain their eyesight for as long as possible - delaying the need for corrective laser surgery or alternatives to laser eye surgery.

Top of Dr Bing's health tips was not "overwearing" or mishandling contact lenses - an issue that can be quickly and simply resolved with the use of Ortho K overnight corrective lenses, which do away with the need for daily contact lenses or glasses.

"Misappropriate length of wear and inadequate cleaning of lens can lead to a variety of eye infections, including some that might even cause blindness," Dr Bing said.

"Your eyes will get drier the longer you wear your contact lenses," he added.

Dr Bing offered a number of other health tips to people who work for prolonged periods in front of a computer screen, including working in good light, finding the optimal brightness and contrast for their computer screen and taking frequent breaks during the day to "rest the eyes".

If vision has become a problem at work, i-GO's Ortho K lenses could provide a non-invasive alternative to corrective laser surgery.

The overnight contact lenses gently reshape the wearer's eyes, correcting their vision and doing away with the need for contact lenses and glasses during the day.

One of the major benefits Ortho K lenses have over laser surgery options is that they have none of the permanent side effects that can be experienced following surgery - such as haloing.ADNFCR-2387-ID-19686253-ADNFCR
