Overnight Contact Lenses

How overnight contact lenses work?

Overnight vision correction (OVC®) is based on the long established science of Ortho K (Orthokeratology) and is the new way to correct short-sightedness. Specially shaped overnight contact lenses are uniquely designed for your individual eyes and are worn only while sleeping to correct your eyesight.

Overnight contact lenses are different, shaped like upside down saucers with a unique inner curve they act like jelly moulds. The gently pressure of your eyelids on the tear film on the lenses moulds the cornea, flattening the area over the pupil.

The change is microscopic, less than a hairs width, but it is sufficient to alter the angle at which light enters the eye so it focuses correctly on the back of the retina. As your cornea is elastic it will retain the corrected shape for more than 24 hours.

When you remove your overnight contact lenses in the morning you will have better than 20/20 vision and this ensures that you will still have 20/20 vision at the end of the day.
